After growing the peas in our class for two weeks, on Friday students were excited to get to take their pea plant home. We watched as our pea seeds developed from seeds into little plants. Hopefully they all weren't damaged in the storm on Saturday!

At lunchtime on Friday, Wang West students greeted 4 students from Oxley Primary School who had rode all the way from their school to Wangaratta West on unicycles to raise money for cancer. They were able to show us some tricks they can do. Congratulations to them on a top effort. I'm sure they would have had sore legs Friday night.

Students had fun on Friday using the scales to compare mass. They chose an object and then had to find and record objects that were lighter than and heavier than their chosen object.

The children were very excited today as we 'planted' some pea seeds which we will watch grow. We learnt that plants need sunlight and water to grow. Stay tuned for more pictures as the seeds start to change.

Today students at Wangaratta West were privileged to watch a performance of Hansel and Gretel by VIC Opera in German. Filled with magic and beautiful music, this  abridged version of Engelbert Humperdinck’s masterpiece Hansel and Gretel, introduces young audiences to an enchanting
world of opera. Hansel and Gretel, two mischievous children are sent into the forest and discover
a gingerbread house and its unpleasant owner, a wicked witch who eats children.

The children enjoyed this performance, many particularly liking the beautiful costumes and the ginger bread house set.

The students have been very busy this week. Yesterday we were privileged enough to have the Ringwood Secondary School Band come and perform for us. They played many songs that we were familiar with including The Simpsons theme song and Bob the Builder. They were all very clever!

We then had to rush off to make it to our swimming lesson. We are all doing very well and are getting quicker at getting ourselves organised before and after swimming each week.
Here are Shekinyah, Osten and Bailey kicking away.

Hannah and Bethany just completed a lap of the pool.
Hannah is doing a great job of following her swimming teachers instructions.
Roy is relaxing waiting for his next turn.
Dylan and Luke are enjoying their time in the water.
Shekinyah was brave and jumped into the water.
Dion waiting patiently for his next turn.

Then today, we had another Bluearth session where we focused on different types of walks and making sure we did them controlled - we had to remind ourselves it wasn't a race.

Bethany and Hannah trying the lizard walk.
William and Bailey also had a great go at trying to walk like a lizard.
Osten's lizard walk was very controlled. Look at him go!

Osten, Dylan and Jasmine also enjoyed experimenting how to walk like a lizard.

Luke did great at the handstand walk.

William was ready for a rest after this walk.
Hannah and Bethany were giving this a great go. Bethany had so much fun she decided to do it on the way back rather than walking.
